As we age, our skin loses its tone, texture, and elasticity. Fine lines and wrinkles, telltale signs of skin damage and aging, develop around the corners of the mouth and the lips.
These are precisely the lines that can be corrected with injectable implants also known as dermal fillers. Properly placed beneath the surface of the skin, dermal fillers can smooth wrinkles and add definition to the lip border, eliminate smile lines, and minimize so-called marionette lines. The effect is a more even skin surface and an overall healthier appearance.

Used on over one million patients world-wide for more than nine years, Restylane™, has been shown to maintain its results and last at least eight months, more than twice as long as the longest-lasting collagen. Restylane™ is made from non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid gel and does not require skin testing before use. Doctor Foxx has been a member of the National Restylane™ Advisory Board since 2004.
Prior to treatment with Restylane™ all makeup should be removed in the area in which the correction will be done. If you are taking aspirin, multi-vitamins, vitamin E, or anything that promotes bleeding, you should discontinue it eight days prior to the treatment to avoid bruising. In addition, we may recommend you take arnica montana, a product used to minimize swelling, for a few days following the treatment. Please let us know if you have experienced cold sores in the past. If you have had cold sores, we may have you take Valtrex™ prior to your Restylane™ treatment.
As with all of our procedures at The Medical and Skin Spa, this treatment is an experience. After a personal consultation with the doctor during which time your goals and desires are carefully explored, your are given the opportunity of changing into a luxurious robe in Agua Serena Spa before being treated. Once robed and back in the treatment room, anesthetic is applied. Ample time is allowed so that each procedure can be made as comfortable as possible. At the conclusion of the procedure you may reapply your makeup.
At The Medical and Skin Spa, all corrections and treatments are performed by Doctor Foxx. We encourage you to discuss the degree of correction with him as the procedure is being performed.
