Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Healthy skin exhibits a uniform appearance with small pores, an even skin tone, the absence of visible capillaries, minimal fine wrinkles, and a high degree of reflectance. The effects of aging and environmental damage on the skin are well-documented and visible to all. Now, for the first time, we are able to craft an effective approach to skin health and rejuvenation with laser dermatology in Southern California.

At The Medical and Skin Spa, our team is led by Richard M. Foxx, M.D. He has been specializing in cosmetic dermatology and aesthetic medicine since 2001 and is well-known for his ability with laser treatments, dermal fillers, and other cosmetic procedures. We consistently provide gentle, effective care in a lovely spa environment. How It Works

Laser technology first became available to the scientific community a little more than 40 years ago when researchers first learned to create and intensify a narrow beam of coherent light. Since then, advancements in that field have seen the knowledge expand exponentially. Laser dermatology has become an invaluable tool at our Southern California medspa.

With the development of the next-generation CoolGlide™ laser system by Cutera® several years ago, the promise of healthy skin moved closer to reality. Employed in a unique system known as Laser Genesis, the laser is used in a non-invasive, non-ablative manner. Several effects are apparent. Fine lines are decreased while facial redness and prominent capillaries are diminished. Pore size is minimized. Textural smoothness and reflectance are enhanced.

The Procedure

Treatment of the entire face takes about 30 minutes. Except for cleansing the skin, no preparation is necessary. As the procedure is painless, no anesthetic is required. The laser dermatology procedure in Southern California is performed by manipulating the laser probe just off the skin surface.

After the Procedure

A sunscreen is necessary following the procedure but there is typically no redness and no downtime. If you'd like, you can resume normal activities immediately. In fact, patients often arrange the treatment during their lunchtime. But remember, you don't have to get back to work right away. You can "make an afternoon of it" at the Agua Serena spa – swimming in the pool and ordering food from a menu developed by Dr. Foxx and Executive Chef Chris Mitchum.

While the effects of one laser skin rejuvenation treatment begin to be visible in a matter of days, the best results are obtained using a series of treatments spaced at varying intervals.
