The Medical and Skin Spa first offered Fraxel to our patients early in 2007 and was the first office in the Coachella Valley to begin using this advanced technology. The Procedure

With Fraxel, the skin is treated in a series of microscopic laser zones called microthermal zones, each smaller than a hair, which treat approximately 25 percent of the skin at a time. The entire area is treated, of course, but the microscopic zones of laser energy leave 75 percent of the area untreated. Four laser skin resurfacing treatments in Palm Desert are usually necessary for maximum improvement.

It is this "fractional" concept that allows us to treat patients using only numbing cream and allows the skin to heal much faster than if all the skin in the area was treated at once. The treatment penetrates into the dermis, eliminates old pigmented cells, and sets the stage for re-growth of new, clear skin that replaces skin imperfections.

Fraxel has been shown to reduce acne scarring, improve skin texture, smooth wrinkles, and eliminate skin imperfections such as age spots and sun spots.

After the Procedure

There is no downtime with Fraxel. If you'd like, you can resume normal activities immediately. But remember, you don't have to get back to work right away.
